How to Inject Testosterone

A lot of people resort to the use of anabolic steroids when it comes to physique and performance enhancement purposes. And if you’re doing a bit of research about the first steroid cycle, you would notice that testosterone is the first steroid recommended to new-comers. People should actually use Testosterone in all cycles of anabolic steroids. That’s why, if you plan to go the steroids route – I highly recommend you to learn about “How to inject Testosterone?” correctly. These methods of using testosterone would help you learn how to use all other injectable anabolic and androgenic steroids. Because the same method of administering testosterone applies to all injectable steroids.

Here I’m going to share how you need self to administer testosterone correctly and share advice about safer injecting for steroid users.

The tips I will provide here will help you stay safe and healthy, as well as perform injections of testosterone (or other anabolic steroids) properly.

Before Injection

  • Understand the testosterone. There are many different testosterones out there. Different esters and different concentrations. By understanding the ester, you will understand how often you need to inject it to maintain stable blood levels. By understanding the concentration, you will understand the dosage you inject to receive the proper amount.
  • Often change injection site. Don’t use the same injection site constantly. Rotate between the muscles you’re injecting into to give time to the muscles to heal between the injections. Do not inject into sore muscles or into the skin that is irritated or broken.
  • Work it up yourself. Never go for someone else’s dosage. Some professional bodybuilders may use 1,000 mg a week. That’s a HUGE dosage, I don’t recommend it to beginners. Start at a low dosage to see how it works for you then slowly build it up.

Always Use the Right Syringes/Needles

2ml-Syringe-Needle

  • Use new and sterile syringes/needles. Do not ever try to use the same syringe or needle twice. It’s extremely important for avoiding the risks of injuries, infections, or other unpleasant things.
  • Never attempt sharing needles or other accessories with someone else.
  • Use needles of 22-23 gauges for injecting.
  • I recommend using a different needle for drawing the solution (thicker – 20-21 gauges) and another needle for injecting the solution (finer – 22-23 gauges). Needle length is usually 1” or 1.5”.
  • Maintain appropriate syringe sizes. There’s no point in using larger syringes than 2-3 ml as long as you don’t plan to inject more than 2-3 ml of solution.

Best Testosterone Injection Sites

Make sure that you’re injecting the solution in the right spot. The best places to inject intramuscularly are the deltoids, quads, and glutes. That’s because they are bigger muscle groups making it easier to inject into the muscles and they are having fewer blood vessels or nerves. Yet, still be careful to avoid the nerves or vessels.

  • Deltoids – although this is a favorable spot, is still less favorable compared to the other 2 spots mentioned. That’s because injecting there has higher risks. It’s because the muscles are smaller.
  • Quads – quads are another safe are to inject intramuscularly, although, again, not as safe as glutes due to the same reason. If you choose this spot, make sure you inject it into the outer thigh. Be sure it’s halfway between the knee and the top of the leg.
  • Glutes – this is perhaps the safest place to perform an intramuscular injection. It’s a very large area with muscles and fewer vessels. To understand it better – imagine your buttock divided into four equal pieces. Inject into the upper, outer quarter (left side on the left glute, right side on the right glute). This way you won’t hit the sciatic nerve.

There are also other muscles where you can perform an intramuscular injection of testosterone or other anabolic steroids. Nonetheless, considering there’s less muscle and more nerves/blood vessels – it increases the risks of issues. Hitting a nerve could cause pain.

  • PS: It doesn’t really matter the exact muscle where you inject anabolic steroids (testosterone or whatever other). They are working on the whole body and all muscles groups. They are not local, so won’t work only in the area you injected. But I still recommend often changing injection sites due to reasons I earlier explained.

Injecting Testosterone Intramuscularly

When you are feeling ready to inject, make sure to follow all the steps religiously. It reduces the risks of side effects, infections, pains, or whatever other unwanted scenarios.

First – Keep It Clean

  • Always make sure to wash your hands with enough antibacterial soap and enough water before injecting.
  • Clean the injection area with an alcohol pad. Wipe it carefully. Don’t scrub your skin around and is best to use alcohol. Otherwise, you’ll just spread the bacteria.
  • After wiping your skin – allow it to dry before injection.
  • If you’re using a bottle with multiple doses, make sure to wipe the lid (top of the vial) before drawing the solution.

Step by Step Guide – How to Inject Steroids?

  1. Draw the solution from the bottle with a thicker needle (20-21 g) while keeping the bottle upside down. Best to draw air inside the syringe as much as you want to draw the solution first. Inside the air inside the bottle to increase pressure and make it easier to draw. Switch to a finer needle (22-23 g, 1”-1.5”) for injecting.
  2. Remove the needle cap, and keep the needle at 90 degrees above the injection area. Hold the syringe as if you hold a dart.
  3. Stretch the injection area with your finger and thumb with the other hand.
  4. Quickly and fully insert the needle at the 90 degrees. Make sure the needle is fully inside.
  5. Firstly, draw back the plunger. Notice if there is no blood. If you draw blood, it means you hit a vein.
  6. Remove the needle (don’t attempt to inject) and apply pressure with a clean pad or a cotton swab. Change the needle and injection site.
  7. Although that’s mostly for professionals – I still recommend avoiding injecting more than 2 ml of the solution into each site. Injecting more than 2 ml is increasing the risks of pain and infections.
  8. At a controlled and slow pace, fully depress the plunger. Inject slowly, about 10 seconds per 1 ml. Don’t keep it there for too long or inject it too fast.
  9. Go back to step 6 – remove the needle and apply pressure with a clean pad or a cotton swab.
  10. Dispose of the used needles, syringes, pads, cotton swabs, or whatever else you used. Never use the same thing twice (except is only multi-vial bottles with your steroids).

Note that some discomfort is very likely, especially for beginners with “virgin” muscles. More serious issues could be a sign of improper use or allergies.

After Cycle

It’s important to understand that injecting testosterone (exogenously), the natural (endogenous) testosterone production reduces. It could stop a few weeks into the cycle.

That’s why, unless you plan to remain on Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) for your entire life – make sure to prepare a Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) plan.

PCT protocol helps recover back natural testosterone production. Although testosterone production gradually recovers on its own – it takes months. Months with low T levels lead to nasty symptoms.
